We really need to do something like that, and I hope that next year I will plant a few things of my own. We relied on the surprises budding from the heritage garden left behind by the people who used to live in our house. I had many flowers pop up, and we even lucked out on scoring some asparagus, which was super yummy. I have decided to start a composting so that we will have soil in time to start seedlings.

I think that you've realized something very important.....doing what you can, and not trying to overdo it is best.....that's how you get overwhelmed! Or at least that's how I do :o)

p.s. Keep on the look out for the giveaway I'll be posting about tonight.....I think you would be a great role model for its theme....which is secret right now....shhhhh.

It's the bitter part of the sweet to going away on vacation. And if you're like me, looking from the outside in (as away from your home setting), you get all these wonderful ideas of things to do and accomplish when you're back home. Then surprise! You're back into the fray of it all and the days are gobbled up with not even covering the basics! However, the memories and the photos are yours to savor over and again as you slowly get back into sync.

Ha! That was so much fun to read. If it's any consolation, I have the "mommy guilt" too only it's because I DON"T homeschool my kids. Sigh...it would be so helpful if we didn't put so much pressure on ourselves. I try to always tell myself the kids are GOOD, HAPPY, CREATIVE kids. Let the rest go...

OK. . . so i didn't even know what a flagon was!!!! What the heck. . . now i have homework too. But let Laurent know that James found a crysalis in the new chicken coop, and while i haven't confirmed it, i am 99.9% sure it is a monarch! James was pretty excited too. Almost as excited as seeing your children at the faire!!

very very beautiful photos of flowers! i love the second and the third one. flowers are both very easy and very difficult objects of photography... beautiful flower doesn't necessarily mean the photo will be beautiful, but you do it great!
also i had great fun reading your blog and flicking through the rest pf photos! thank you so much for sharing it all.
