enjoying the fall leaves

We have a very teeny yard. You can see a couple photos of it here & here. There are no majestic trees that rain down brilliant leaves in fall. Well, there is the neighbor's tree just over the fence but it's leaves fall too little and too late.

For real fall leaf play we go to the college, just blocks from here, where Daddy works. The real piles haven't even started accumulating there yet as the leaves are just now starting to fall.

There is a huge green space ("the quad" it's called) graced with stately old oaks and maples. I think most of the elms died years ago with the Dutch Elm disease outbreak that took so many old trees from these neighborhoods.

Yesterday morning, though the skies were gray (today of course is beautifully sunny and I'm moaning over the sunlit leaf photos that could of been) we walked, biked and strollered over with stuffed dogs and dolls to run, jump and play.

Celine made these adorable little faux fur booties for her doll

I love autumn! Now go play in some leaves.

I didn't run in the leaves but the combination of your inspiring post and the treat of a sunny day pulled me outside. To plant garlic, clip and trim, haul brush to the no-man's-land behind our house, lay to rest a pathetic lilac bush, transplant a decorative grass and a scruffy tree that looks like a hopeful hydrangea tree. Enjoyed a leisurely pace, in the golden-leaf-glow of the backyard. Thanks for the idea. Mom

My 9yo daughter, Katia, wonders if Celine could tell more about how she made the boots for her doll (fabric used, steps involved...)

I love the dress Brienne is wearing. And am always so impressed with Celine's sewing abilities! I STILL have to ask my mother for help when I tackle anything other than a rectangle! LOL!

Spring's last blog post... Is not this nice?

Ha! In Arizona, we don't really have fall in this sense. Some trees definitely drop leaves but nothing like this. I am sooo jealous! Happy crunching!!
