Frosty Fall Morning

Wishing you all a great weekend. Right now we are settling into our new home. Can't wait to be back here to start writing this next chapter of our family story.

I scheduled this post earlier this week. I'm checking in this am to my own post (roll eyes) to say "settling in" involves me knocked out for the count with a cold - the absolute worst I've had in ages. Moving has never been quite so difficult as this. Sick mama, sick kids, my life in dissarray. I'll be back when I'm feeling better and have something more to say than "moan", "groan", "cough, cough". But the chalet is perfect, the view lovely. Now I just need to rest... (and maybe unpack).

I'm in the middle of a bad cold too. I know you don't use much honey, but a drizzle of honey mixed into a cup of hot water with juice from a quarter of a lemon is wonderfully comforting and soothing. Wishing all of you well. Congratulations on your new home!

We've been using spoonfuls of the stuff all weekend to soothe our raw and aching throats. Honey is great for that.

Ugghh! As my grandma tells me during times of upheaval, "This too shall pass". We moved last month, so I still have fresh in my mind how it feels to have boxes staring me in the face. It has been a month now and it feels as comfortable as if we've lived here for a year. You'll be breathing a sigh of relief before you know it.

Angela, I can't wait to be at that point. Our added challenge is there is no extra rooms indoors (we have a trailer outside) to just "store that for now". Everything we do has to be deliberate and with intention, which... I love. But also makes the unpacking process more lengthy. But it will be very, very worth it. Because we will have effectively downsized/simplified our lives that much more and not just in a superficial "don't go in the basement or open the closet doors kind of way". Exciting and whole lot of work, all at a time I don't feel particularly well. One day at a time...

oh! i'm sorry renee. when i had one of those nasty, lingering colds (working in the preschool room...) i could NOT shake it, it was going on 3 weeks respiratory/cough/throat nonsense. then a reader suggested hot water with lemon, honey and as much apple cider vinegar (with the mother) as i could stand. drink all day long... i was almost 100% better in 24 hours after weeks of no relief! i'm completely sold on that combo.

it turns out i could "stand" about 1 tablespoon of vinegar per mug. :) feel better soon!

ACV you say... Yes, I probably could "stand" about 1 tsp. I just bought raw vinegar yesterday - restocking after moving. I will try it tomorrow. Thank you. This is just miserable.
