Renee is a woman of many projects. Her main projects right now are overseeing the home education of her three children, ages 9, 11 and 13. She also does a lot of cooking; fulfilling her mission to nourish her growing (and always hungry) family.
Aside from these two big life projects, which are on-going, Renee also manages her family's home and finances, making her the COO and CFO of the Tougas Family. She is proud to be a full time stay at home mom, radical homemaker, creative homeschooler and adventurous mother.
Renee's got a couple side gigs going, her creative entrepreneurial work, which she integrates into family life, working at home together with her husband.
FIMBY is Renee's first and enduring writing crush. Renee has been blogging for over seven years and only in the past couple years has she gotten serious about really leveraging this platform to encourage others to live healthy, adventurous and creative lives - with beauty and intention.
FIMBY readership and visits continue to grow and the best part is that Renee is having more fun blogging now, than ever before. Writing true to her heart and telling her family story, while living her personal mission to nourish, encourage and teach; build relationship and create beauty.
Renee and her husband Damien recently re-launched their joint venture blog Outsideways - lateral thinking for adventurous living.
Outsideways is a blog for people who want to live a better story with their life. Through writing, photography, how-to's, creative and out of the box ideas (that's the lateral part), Damien and Renee inspire readers to embrace adventurous living. They also encourage families to get outdoors more together.
Renee loves to connect with people. She is gifted at using her organizational, teaching and practical living skills to help others reach their goals. Renee weaves these skills together with her university degree in education and seven years of homeschooling her own children to offer a unique, online homeschool coaching service.
Please see homeschool coaching for the full description of this service.
Renee also offers life coaching in the areas of organization, home management, blogging, entrepreneurial living, family adventure and the outdoors.
"Renee inspired me to pursue my ideas."
I asked Renee if she could be my "mission/vision" coach rather than a homeschool coach. Renee was clearly someone who thought outside of the box and within a few emails could clearly see my vision. She created a list of discussion points and as we started our session I soaked up her energy and we were off talking/discussion/planning. Renee inspired me to pursue my ideas. She validated my direction and gave me me some tools to get going in the direction I want.

"I feel like I'm finally making progress toward my goals."
Realizing all of the progress I have made this week made me think of you, and how grateful I am for our coaching session. It really pointed me in a better direction. I feel like I'm finally making progress toward my goals. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!
