The college Damien works at, five minutes from our house, has a small pond on its campus. The campus itself is very beautiful. Old brick building, white bell towers and green spaces. Very New England college feel. But the "natural" jewel of the college grounds is the man made pond.
This time of year it is coming to life. Ducks, red winged blackbirds, blossoming trees and no doubt all kinds of microscopic critters I can't see.
I took an early morning walk there two days last week. The first day I was by my myself (so quiet and peaceful out all by my lonesome) but after I described the beauty to my children Brienne decided to join me on the second outing.
It was a lovely time together, just the two of us in the early morning. Out before breakfast and back home before the other two were even awake.
Sharing this kind of beauty with my children makes my heart sing. Taking photos of this kind of beauty make my heart sing.

Such lovely photos! We are a few hours north of you in New Brunswick and spring has definitely NOT sprung here yet. We are ever hopeful on our recent nature walks that we will start to see signs of life, but it is a slow process. Your photos give me hope, though! :)

We have a red-winged black bird who we call Cicily. His "wife's" name is Cecilia. :) He comes to our birdfeeder and chats with us and we love him!

That sounds so nice to sneak out for a little walk before the others awake. It is just enough time and space to start you day off in a refreshed way, and very special to share that time with your daughter!
