Disclosure & Affiliate Advertising Policy

Affiliate Links

What are affliliate links? Most simply explained, if I link to a retailer, business or individual that I'm affiliated with and you click there and purchase something I will get a small financial payment.

Most notable of these are book links (I like to read), which take you in most cases to Any purchase you make (not just books) after arriving at an affiliate link, earns me a small commission - thanks!

Affiliate links show up as links in blog posts, emails, newsletters and pdf downloads and instructional materials.

It goes without saying (but I still have to say it) I only recommend products I believe are helpful for readers, the same things I would recommend to a good friend. You have my word.

Review Compensation

Starting July 2012 I am receiving compensation for some of the product reviews you see here at FIMBY. This is clearly marked at the bottom of those posts. In fact, it might be what brought you to this page.

I do not accept compensation for my opinion, ie: you can't buy my good recommendation or endorsement.

I do accept compensation for my time and expertise in evaluating products, services and/or brands.

I don't review a lot of products so you can be certain the ones I do review I give careful consideration to and think about your needs (what can encourage and inspire you to live a creative, healthy and adventurous family life) as well as my own.

Sometimes I will casually review something I have personally purchased and simply want to share with you. Obviously, I'm not getting compensated for that, but I will probably include affiliate links (see above) where you can purchase the product or service for yourself.

Other times, I will be given the product for review but not compensated for my time in writing the review. And there may be times where I receive a cash payment, gift or other thing of value from a company affiliated with a brand, service, or product.

In any event, I will disclose that in the post. I have nothing to hide.

Privacy Policy

This blog does not share personal information with third parties nor do we store any information about your visit to this blog other than to analyze and optimize your content and reading experience through the use of cookies.

What's a cookie? Cookies are small pieces of data that save information when you visit websites so you don’t have to re-enter it every time you return.

For example, cookies help search engines remember that you want your search results in English and help online stores remember the items saved in your virtual shopping cart. Advertisers can also use cookies to deliver ads that are more relevant to you. (That doesn't happen here at FIMBY because I'm not partnered with large ad networks.)

You can turn off the use of cookies at anytime by changing your specific browser settings.

I am not responsible for republished content from this blog on other blogs or websites without my permission. This privacy policy is subject to change without notice and was last updated on August 4th, 2012.

FYI: Because I use Google Analytics and affiliates I am required to tell you this stuff.
