Tonight we talked about the message of peace the angel's declared to the shepherds as we lit our 4th advent candle. I'm thinking our advent calendar might be mixed up and today was really supposed to be joy or something but peace suited the day.
A morning's winter walk to mark the solstice, to revel in winter and celebrate the snow. I love marking the seasons and today's outing reminded me of our summer solstice hike and celebration.
An afternoon cozy at home while outdoors a blizzard started to blow in. Looks like we'll get a foot tonight. I cashed in on my birthday gift certificate "good for one free afternoon to do whatever I wanted". I wrote (didn't touch my blog), read, watched and photographed. Talk about peace, it was too good to be true.
Damien prepared supper, part of the free afternoon deal. We lit our fourth advent candle, cleaned up, Damien finished Christmas gifts (he's a craftsman in his own right), I read to the kiddos and now we're off to snuggle on this darkest night of the year.
Happy Solstice.
